An impressive Georgian silver salver of large proportion. Of circular form with a cast and applied edge decorated with scrolls and shell patterns . The central reserve surrounded by intricately worked ground upon which bright cut flowers, leaves, fruits and three rocaille cartouches with stylised grid form decoration. The whole standing on four cast shaped scroll form feet.
Marked to the underside for London 1828 by William Eley II.
This is a spectacular salver or sideboard charger of exceptionally good size and quality. The decoration is extremely unusual and highly attractive. The silver is of excellent gauge and it stands absolutely true on its feet. The central reserve has no engraving and has never been erased. In absolutely original condition with no signs of any damage or repair. Hallmarks clearly legible.
