An extremely fine set of cast silver George II table candlesticks in the naturalistic style. Standing on a cast, shaped base, the fluted and knopped column is surmounted with to a shaped capital. All decorated in the asymmetrical naturalistic style featuring roses, sunflowers, acanthus leaves, shells and arabesques. The raised sconces with conforming decoration.


All four candlesticks identically marked underneath for London 1753 by John Cafe. Each capital is marked with the maker’s mark and the lion passant.


This is an exquisite set of table candlesticks in a rare pattern of very good weight and all in excellent condition with a wonderful colour and patina. The hallmarks underneath are well struck and clear. There is a crest engraved to each of the bases.
