Here at Forrest and Fraser we use our wealth of experience and expertise to source the finest examples of domestic silverware. High quality silverware was made in vast quantities during the 18th and 19th centuries, many examples of which are still in extremely good condition for their age. We only stock the very best examples of any particular item. Our specialism is in 18th century and early 19th-century pieces, a time during which most of the great silversmiths and many of the best styles coincided and produced truly outstanding creations. Many of these remarkable and practical pieces are still relatively affordable. Much earlier pieces from the 17th century attract a higher price for the simple reason that there are many, many fewer pieces still in existence, and even earlier examples become scarcer and scarcer, most of which are either in museum collections or still in private hands. But in what you might call the golden age of British silversmithing, there exists an almost endless abundance of useful, usable and beautiful creations that we offer here.
Please don't hesitate to ask us any questions you like about any particular piece, or silverware in general, as we are always delighted to offer assistance in any way we can. If you are looking for a particular piece, either to complement something you already own or to fulfil a particular need then we will always try and find what you are looking for if we do not have any examples in stock.
