A Spectacular Late 19C Silver Plate Table Centrepiece Candelabra
 
A spectacular late 19th century silver plated table centrepiece or candelabra cast as a fruiting vine.  With realistic bark, leaves, tendrils and bunches of grapes. The whole standing on three shell  form shaped feet. Each of the parts can be individually removed. Each of the candle sconces can be unscrewed. The three branches can be removed from the base and the main entwined stem can also be unscrewed from the base. The three decorative pieces at the foot of the trunk are attached via a nut from the underside. 
 
It carries the mark of Thomas Bradbury of Sheffield. This firm was renowned for the extremely high quality of its silverplate work.  This piece would date from about 1890. Each of the arms is numbered one, two or three with corresponding marks on the base as are the decorative pieces at the foot of the trunk.
 
This really is a remarkable piece. The attention to detail is astonishing and the workmanship is of the very highest quality. There is absolutely no wear at all to any of the plate. It stands true on the table top and would make a stupendous addition to any formal dinner table.
