Very fine quality George IV silver waiter or small tray of shaped circular form. The central plate engraved with floral and foliate patterns. The cast rim with acanthus pattern decorations. The whole standing on three cast scrolled feet.

 
Marked to the underside for London 1825 by Benjamin Smith.
 
This waiter is of the very highest quality of very thick gauge silver and superb workmanship. Benjamin Smith was renowned for his extremely fine silver work. There is no damage and there are no repairs and only very minor signs of use. The hallmarks are very clear to the underside. A very fine example of this very important silversmith's work.
