A superb oval George III silver basket by Aldridge & Green, London 1774. Of oval form, the pierced sides embossed and chased with a floral, swag drapery design, and floral boarder. Rope twist pierced handle all standing on a pierced foot.
Hallmarked for London 1774, makers mark for Charles Aldridge & Henry Green. The handle is marked with the lion passant and makers mark.
The hallmarks are well struck and very clear.
This basket is in superb condition with couple repairs under the rim.
Of a good gauge and has a wonderful colour and patina and stands true.
