A Very Imposing Pair of Victorian Silver Candelabra London 1874

A very imposing tall pair of mid Victorian silver three light candelabra on square stepped bases with Corinthian columns. Beaded decoration to both bases  and all sconces. Each stick with a pair of curved leaf patterned arms and conforming Corinthian capitals. The central column with wrythen tapered stem leading to a conforming Corinthian capital. All the sconces and central columns are removable and the central stem swivels freely thus allowing the lights to be positioned wherever is best suited.

All the separate parts are clearly marked for London 1874. All eight sconces are fully marked, both bases are fully marked. The arms fully marked where they slot into the top of the candlestick. The column is marked with the Queens head and the lion passant.  There is also a mark to the top of the capital on each stick that is hard to make out.

These are really an exceptionally fine pair of candelabra, tall and very impressive they make a superb table decoration. There are in absolutely excellent original condition with very, very little wear to any parts. There is some residual tarnish to the beaded decoration to the bases of the candlesticks and to some of the capitals. There is a possible strengthening or old repair to one of the arms but this is barely noticeable. All the pieces fit together beautifully and generally the entire component parts are in superb condition. The bases of the candlesticks are weighted with their original filling.
