A very  good quality circular silver butter dish with a cut glass receptacle in the shape of a churn.  The base of the dish of petal  form with shells to five of the lobes.  The domed, fluted lid with a buttercup finial. 

 
 All the parts are marked for London 1834 by Edward, Edward Junior, John and William Barnard. 
 
This is a very attractive butter dish of good size and fine workmanship. It is an absolutely original condition with no damage and no repair.  The glass part has no chips, cracks or damage of any sort.  The marks are clear although a little rubbed. 
 
 Diameter of silver base: 7.25 inches or 18.5cm
 Diameter of Silver lid: 5 inches or 12.5 cm
 Height to top of finial: 4.5 inches or 11.5 cm
Weight of silver parts: 387g or 13.7 oz
Weight of glass dish: 712g or 25 oz
