A Pair of George III Cast Silver Candlesticks, London 1763 by William Cafe

A pair of George III cast silver candlesticks, each with shaped hexafoil, stepped and fluted bases rising to a knopped and fluted stem topped with a cotton-reel capitals and matched sconces. 

Both candlesticks are clearly hallmarked for the renowned silversmith William Cafe, London 1763. Both cotton reel capitals are marked with the lion passant and maker's mark. The sconces are also marked with the lion passant and one with a partial maker's mark. (rubbed). Each candlestick is also numbered underneath, 1 & 2 accordingly, long with the scratch weight.

These candlesticks are in very fine condition, and stand true on a flat surface.

William cafe was a specialist candlestick maker and these are fine examples of his work.
