A Rare & Superb Irish Silver Caster, Dublin 1715. Of baluster form, with a pierced lid surmounted with an acorn final. The main body of the caster is plain with an applied band to the waist, engraved with initials P over L I. All standing on a raised foot.
Hallmarked for Dublin 1715. Marks to lid & maker's mark rubbed.
This beautiful rare Irish caster is in exceptionally fine condition. Of excellent gauge, well proportioned design and a beautiful lid with pierced design surmounted with a lovely final. The overall patina is very nice. It sits true and apart from a little rubbing to the hallmarks.
Irish silver from this period is exceptionally rare and thus highly collectable.
