A superb pair of cast George III silver candlesticks by William Cafe, London 1762. With square bases shaped and stepped with floral form corners. The fluted columns rising above a rope decorated circular knop to a square knop with matching floral decoration to the corners of the base. The capitals with two rope decorated bands above a central plain band. The original sconces are similarly decorated with the cast floral pattern.

Hallmarked to the underside of each base for London 1762, along with the specialist candlestick maker’s mark of William Cafe. The sconces are marked with the lion passant and maker's mark.

These candlesticks are of the very highest quality. Absolutely no damage or repair and in stupendous original condition with the original sconces.

The hallmarks to the underside very crisp & clear.

 

These are an absolutely wonderful pair of high sought-after and collectable cast silver candlesticks. Elegant, graceful and of excellent proportions to accompany your dining table.
