A Superb Pair of Georgian Cast Silver Candlesticks by William Cafe London 1763.

Very fine pair of George III cast silver table candlesticks with square bases shaped and stepped with shell form corners. The fluted columns rising above a  rope twist knop  to a square knop with conforming shell form corners. The capitals with two rope twist bands above a central plain band. The sconces of conforming pattern.
 
Marked to each underside for London 1763 by William Cafe. The sconces marked with the makers mark and the lion passant. Each stick and each sconce crested with a winged Griffin.
 
These candlesticks are of the very highest quality. Absolutely no damage or repair and in stupendous original condition. Very minor wear to the high points of the decoration. The hallmarks to the underside very clear. The marks to the sconces rubbed. They are both absolutely free from any wobble and stand upright.
