A Very Fine Set of Cast Silver Candlesticks by John Cafe London 1750

£0

An exceptionally good set of four matching cast silver candlesticks of hexagonal form. Shell form decoration to the six lobes of the base with a turned tapering column and cotton reel capitals. Conforming decoration to the sconces.

All four identically marked to the underside for London 1750 by the specialist candlestick maker, John Cafe. Each also engraved with an armorial depicting a shield in a floral cartouche. The capitals marked with the lion passant.

These sticks are in excellent original unrestored condition with no signs of damage or repairs. All four stand upright. The marks underneath very clear. Some wear to the armorial and the marks to the capitals.  Wonderful colour and patina.
