A Superb Georgian Silver Salver by Richard Rugg London 1768

A very good large George III silver salver of circular form. The cast border of shell and scrolling beaded decoration. The central plate bright cut engraved with flowers and foliage. The centre with an armorial crest within a shaped cartouche. The whole standing on four ball and claw feet.
 
Marked to the underside for London 1768 by Richard Rugg the specialist salver maker.
 
This is a magnificent large salver with no damage or repairs. The engraving is of the very finest. Stands true on the table. Very clear hallmarks. One of the best silversmiths here displaying consummate skill and artistry. Wonderful colour and patina.
